My name is Melissa Wheelock, and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve ESU 10 as the administrator. I feel very fortunate to have had the wonderful experiences I have learned and grown from in my 27 years in education as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. For the last ten years, I have served as the Minden Public Schools superintendent. Prior to my time in Minden, I was an elementary principal in Aberdeen, SD and Kearney, NE.
My “home family” includes my husband, Shawn, who is a Minden middle school Social Studies teacher. Our son, Aidan, is starting his senior year and enjoys school, running, basketball, and numerous school organizations. Currently our lives are filled with all the exciting opportunities educational life affords our family. I look forward to having you in my “school family” this year.
A goal of mine is to maintain a culture throughout our service unit in which all stakeholders are successful and share a mutual respect for one another. I look forward to meeting each of you. I will work diligently so that together as a team, we can accomplish outstanding things in 2018.
