Application and Service Hosting

ESU 10 provides application hosting for districts and other educational and government entities within our local datacenter. Some of these applications include:

Document Management (for K12 schools only)

Laserfiche is an industry leading document management tool, bringing all of your documents into one place—quickly, easily and securely. It can help bring organization to your document management, provide business process automation and records management. We offer two different services related to document management and Laserfiche:

Licensing and hosting for the RIO product including forms access
1st year costs = $1090 per user
Annual Renewal = $225 per user

Hosting only where annual user licensing is obtained from our partner Bishop Business
Annual Cost $330 for one user
$660 for more than one user

Monitoring Services

Monitoring services are provided using Paessler's PRTG Network Monitor application. Critical elements of a district's network can be monitored and alert notifications set up for key individuals. An on-site monitoring device or software can be added into a local network to maintain performance metrics if a network outage occurs between the school and ESU 10. The web application is hosted at ESU 10 and dashboard views can be developed for individual schools. Proactive alerting and human notification can be requested as part of our managed services.

Hosting Services

ESU 10 can now host servers for school districts in Nebraska with an additional option for our team to perform management on the hosted server as well.

Hosting Services

The primary hosting environment includes multiple servers in a compute cluster with redundant power supplies and redundant 10Gb network connections. A fast, resilient storage system provides an all-SSDs data store across multiple hosts. Another multiple host SSD cache-pool provides high-speed access to a backend disk platter system for larger volume storage. Each host's has multiple 10Gb connections to a pair of layer 3 switches and the firewall and routing services flow through a highly-available pair of firewalls into multiple wide-area connections on the Network Nebraska backbone.

A secondary hosting environment resides directly on Network Nebraska facilities with similar computing and storage capacities, but less redundancy in the equipment connections to maximize cost efficiencies. Image-based backup snapshots are created daily, weekly, and monthly and replicated to the off-site location for disaster preparedness. Other application data backups are recommended and utilized when appropriate for the system being maintained.

Management services can be provided by utilizing the technical support agreement or bundling support hours with server hosting. Managed services include regular application updates, storage for local and off-site data backups, regular OS updates and system monitoring and alerting.

For custom server workloads or storage needs please contact us with specifications for a more detailed estimate.

We have also developed web-based applications that we host for districts and other educational organizations. You can find that list on our Application Development page.

The Open Door Information Exchange (ODIE) is a suite of web applications developed by in-house programmers. ODIE serves as the major vehicle for interaction with school staff in the areas of technical support through our helpdesk, computer repair through our Computer Audio-Visual Service (CAV) Center, instructional resources and professional development. The Workshops portion lists valuable training and learning opportunities at all levels. Other ODIE features provide districts the ability to track staff training and professional growth, request and approve travel and leave requests, and record staff evaluations.

**Schools wanting these features are welcomed and encouraged to take advantage of the services. Contact Ron Cone at rcone@esu10.org.

Staff Evaluation Tool

Feedback is a necessary component for students. However, it is even more vital for staff and teachers in order for a growth mindset. ESU 10 is offering their Staff Evaluation Tool web application to districts. It is a secure way to have data in one place with interaction for both the administrator and the teacher or staff member.

The Evaluation Tool can be enabled for each "evaluator" or supervisor within the district and training will be provided for those new to using the tool. The flexibility of the system allows the district's current evaluation rubric to be migrated into the tool. ESU 10 will provide staff to assist with that importing process.

Ongoing support for the evaluators may include the phone, video conferencing, webinars or other collaborative methods as the needs of the user(s) are determined.
