The Central Region Early Childhood Professional Development Partnership (CECPDP) provides and supports training in early childhood to build an effective, coordinated system for preparing, supporting and recognizing the early childhood care and education workforce in order to provide high quality programs for young children and their families.

As required by Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) and the Department of Health and Human Services, CECPDP collaborates with partners to build the capacity to plan, coordinate and deliver training and other professional development opportunities for all who work with young children, including children identified with disabilities. The following trainings will be offered within the region:

  • Safe With You Phase I (Safe Sleep for Infants, Shaken Baby Syndrome, Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting and Prevention)
  • Early Learning Guidelines
  • Child care licensure requirements (as current)
  • Early Childhood Management Training
  • Getting Down to Business (for family child care home providers)
  • Social-emotional development/Teaching Pyramid (as designated by state Teaching Pyramid implementation plan)
  • Inclusive child care practices (e.g. Special Care Training, Cara’s Kit, etc.)
  • Early Language and Literacy
  • Out-of-School Time/School-age child care programming (in partnership with the Community Learning Center Network)
  • Serving children with disabilities (in partnership with Planning Region Teams)
