Teaching and Learning School Visit Summary

Teaching and Learning School Visit Summary

The Teaching and Learning Department completed its annual public school district service planning visits on February 6, 2026. Visits were conducted with 32 of our 33 districts, with the remaining visit to be scheduled for later this spring. These conversations provided valuable insight into district priorities and will guide our service planning for the upcoming year. The following summarizes the major themes that emerged.

District Priorities

Across ESU 10, districts are prioritizing literacy growth, strengthening instructional practices, and deepening MTSS and continuous improvement implementation. Additional areas of focus include standards alignment, student engagement and attendance, leadership development, and readiness for emerging applications of artificial intelligence.

The Teaching and Learning Team analyzed these themes during our February 23, 2026, department meeting. Our department currently organizes its work into 24 responsibility areas, each with defined action planning structures. Team sizes range from single-person leadership areas to collaborative teams of up to six members. The next phase of work includes developing targeted action plans within each responsibility area aligned to district-identified priorities and data sources.

Our Summer 2026 professional learning schedule is finalized, and planning for 2026–2027 programming will be completed during our April 27-28, 2026 department meetings. All offerings are communicated through our Professional Learning Canva site, which serves as a centralized hub for district access to Teaching and Learning services: https://24-25pd.my.canva.site/

The T&L department remains committed to proactive planning and strategic alignment to ensure strong support for districts as we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year.
