ESU 10 hosted our annual Strategic Leadership Conference on June 1-2, 2022. On June
1, 75 superintendents, principals, teacher leaders and ESU staff attended a full-day of
learning with superintendent and author, Dr. Joe Sanfelippo. We had representatives
from 25 school districts and two ESUs at the conference.
Dr. Joe Sanfelippo is Superintendent of the Fall Creek School
District in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. His message included ideas
from his books, Hacking Leadership: 10 Ways Great Leaders
Inspire Learning That Teachers, Students, and Parents Love
and Lead From Where You Are: Building Intention, Connection, and Director In Our Schools. One key message I took
away from Dr. Sanfelippo’s session was that we need to be
intentional in our interactions with others. He stated that,
“every interaction matters because every interaction could be the one they talk
about for the rest of their lives.” At ESU 10 and within the Teaching and Learning
Team, we interact with multiple stakeholders on a daily basis. We do not get to
choose how others perceive us and respond to us so we need to make sure we are
putting our best selves forward each and every day.
On June 2, Arcadia, Litchfield, Loup City, Ravenna and SEM’s school district leadership teams came together at ESU 10 to work on strategic planning. Leadership
teams took the opportunity to reflect on their learning from Dr. Joe Sanfelippo and utilize planning documents
to prepare for the 2022-2023 school year. ESU 10 Teaching and Learning Staff was available to provide consultation and support throughout the day.
Our ESU 10 leadership team collected
feedback from the
two day event and
will utilize the information to plan and
prepare for our 2022-
2023 leadership offerings.
