As we are nearing the end of 2018, I hope you take time to reflect on your successes and make goals for the upcoming year. When I heard the Association of Educational Service Agencies’ theme for this year’s winter conference was “Courageous Leadership Inspires Bold Action,” I couldn’t help but think that it ties in perfectly with the Educational Service Unit Coordinating Council’s (ESUCC) Five Bold Steps redesign plan.
• Five Bold Steps is centered around:
• Developing ESU standards
• Developing Joint Decision Making Parameters
• Completing SIMPL (Service Implementation Matrix Process and Log) inventory
• Developing a value-add metric
• Developing ESUCC value proposition
ESUCC’s purpose is to enable Educational Service Units to work together effectively, efficiently, and equitably to accomplish common goals and deliver high value to the state’s education system. The design process implements value proposition, optimization of resources and expertise, oversight for accountability, joint decision making, ESUCC work processes, and two-way communication.
Continued work on this redesign process will further strengthen ESUCC’s vision, as well as ESU 10’s mission of partnering with stakeholders to meet changing needs through professional expertise in providing services, learning opportunities, and support. Our commitment to bold action with a focus on providing quality student and adult learning opportunities will inspire our future steps in 2019.
