Description

“For educators eligible to receive Title II-A Consortia funds, participation in this event may be used toward a total of 5 days of non-contract time training and/or a maximum of $500.00.”

Workshop Areas of Focus:

  • Essentials - Excellence in Teaching
  • Classroom Management & Culture: Establishing a Culture of Personal and Academic Excellence
  • Design & Delivery for Learning: Increasing Conceptual Understanding and Critical Thinking

Teachers know they are responsible for teaching content. They often struggle with getting the results they want; namely students engaged in learning the content they have prepared. When teachers learn effective strategies on “how” to teach, their students are empowered to take ownership of their learning of the content. Quantum Learning provides the “how” as well as the “why” behind strategies for successful teaching and learning.

Quantum Learning is a teaching and learning system that creates shifts in beliefs, attitudes, and actions that improve desired results. A fundamental understanding of the QL core components of Foundations, Atmosphere, Environment, and Design and Delivery is required to orchestrate a learning culture where students can think at high levels.

Participants examine their current instructional practices in light of QL’s core components and background gold-standard research. They affirm what’s working best in their classroom and consider what strategies would improve the culture and academic success. Participants experience a shift in personal attitudes, beliefs, and mind sets about teaching.

Through the QL Teaching Cycle participants in this course acquire the understanding and skills to maximize learning, increase memory formation, and extend students application of what they learn.
