Grant Writer Support

Thank you for having an interest in grant funding to help your students or school! Grants are a wonderful way of adding value and opportunities to students and staff!

As the Grant Writer/Coordinator for ESU 10 and Kearney Public Schools, I have the privilege of helping schools and students throughout our service area to dive into the world of grants and bring about lasting changes in teacher development and student achievement. My services include: conducting a grant search (of public and private sources); developing and writing grant proposals; submitting grant proposals, and providing some management assistance as the grants get underway. My services are available to school districts, schools, and classrooms. No project is too big or too small. I've written successful proposals for $200 all the way up to $1.5 million. We have secured nearly $14 million in grant funds--so let our expertise and experience come to work for you!

I approach grant proposal development as a collaborative process--with you as the expert. My mission is to work with you to develop the best proposal and approach possible to secure the funding needed to make dreams a reality. There are more than $465 billion spent each year in grants and donations to noteworthy causes across the United States. Wanna bet on the biggest recipient for these contributions? If you guessed K-12 education you'd be right.

My focus is to provide outstanding services that bring results and innovation. Give me a call or e-mail me and we can begin to dive into the pool together!

Whitacre Earns Professional Certification

Mark Whitacre, Kearney Public Schools/ESU 10 Grant Writer, recently earned the Grant Professional Certification (GPC). The GPC is the only nationally accredited certification for grant professionals. The GPC process requires a review and authentication process for grant expertise before one is eligible to sit for the exam. If cleared for the exam, one takes a day-long question and writing test. Whitacre joined more than 300 grant professionals in the US earning a GPC. This designation is equivalent to an accountant receiving a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in the accounting industry--and the GPC is the CPA of the grant industry. Whitacre is one of only three Nebraskans to attain a professional grant certification. To maintain the GPC, Whitacre must take at least 30 hours of continuing education in some facet of the grant process.
