Grant funding brings a combination of strategies and money to introduce or complement enhancement to teaching skills, technological innovations in the classroom, and create a progressive learning environment. ESU 10 is coordinating the following grants:

• Career & Technical Ed. Consortium (CTE)
• Title I-A Supports
• Title II-A Consortium
• Title III Consortium
• Title IV Consortium

In fulfillment of the requirements of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V), ESU 10 serves as the fiscal and administrative agency for the ESU 10 Career and Technical Education Consortium.

The ESU 10 Perkins Consortium is comprised of 29 member school districts. A Consortium member is defined as an ESU 10 school district offering at least one State model program of study for students in grades 9-12 and receiving a Federal Perkins funding allocation of less than $15,000. The Consortium budget is comprised of member schools’ allocations. Consortia member schools cannot be “granted back” their allocation amount, but can access funds aligned to the Consortium Goals and Plan.

Title II-A is one of the components of the federal grant, Every Student Succeeds Act or ESSA. Its purpose is to develop and sustain high quality teachers and principals.

Title II-A supports a variety of workshops at ESU 10 and at school sites in the following categories:

• Assessment
• Classroom Management
• Curriculum
• Instruction
• Leadership
• Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)

Schools must consort 100% of their Title II-A funding to be a member of the ESU 10 Consortium.

Title III is a federal grant that is intended to assist schools in meeting the needs of English Learners (ELs) through high-quality language instruction educational programs (LIEP) that increase both English proficiency and academic achievement in core subject areas.

Benefits include:

• On-site technical assistance, including program consultation
• On-site training for administrators, teachers, and staff
• Regionally-based training and support for ELL teachers
• Paid registration for all consortium-sponsored training
• Contracted services pay for summer training
• Library of supplemental curriculum materials and resources

Title IV, Part A is one of the components of the federal grant, Every Student Succeeds Act or ESSA. Its purpose is to improve students’ academic achievement by increasing the capacity of States, local educational agencies, schools, and local communities to:

• Provide all students with access to a well-rounded education.
• Improve school conditions for student learning.
• Improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students.

Schools must consort 100% of their Title IV funding to be a member of the ESU 10 Consortium.
