Engaged and On Task: Teaching Critical Language and Learning Skills Through the Direct Instruction of Verbal Behavior
Presented by the Central Region ASD Team
This is a language acquisition intervention that focuses on critical, early- developmental language and learning skills. Participants will receive instruction and hands-on practice on key instructional protocols that are designed to address the core characteristics of autism including the development of verbal skills, flexible responding and appropriate social interactions. Training will also include information on specific systems necessary for effective school-based programming for ABLLS-R/VBMapp, including how to schedule instruction, organization of materials, ongoing training of staff and data-based decision making. (This training has been adapted from the original training created by Mike Miklos and Amiris Dipuglia from PaTTAN, Stacey Martin, and Deb Rauner and Teresa Schultz.)
We highly recommend that you attend the training with at least one other team member.
