Addressing Pros and Cons of Supplements in Physical Education Se

For many youth and adolescents, physical education teachers are their connection to wellness-based information. When students bring questions about nutrition, it can be a daunting task to sift through the hype and the influencers and find the real evidence-based details about nutritional supplements. This session will help physical educators know what to look for when evaluating supplements as well as many red flags to be mindful of. The intention of this session is to provide teachers with a better understanding of myths and misinformation, along with the usefulness and benefits of proper supplement use. With this knowledge, teachers will be better prepared to share these tips with their own students and demonstrate how to be educated consumers of nutritional products.
