Presenter:  Mary Schlieder is a high school special educator, adjunct professor, and educational consultant.  Her professional interests include fostering positive inclusion experiences, peer-medicated intervention, collaborative problem solving, and active learning.  She is the author of With Open Arms:  Creating School Communities of Support for Kids With Social Challenges, and the 2008 Nebraska Teacher of the Year.

You will learn how to structure and implement a Circle of Friends group.  There will be time for creative sharing and program planning.  Your will also learn about documentation requirement to maintain your grant.  Please note:  Any facilitator who will be leading a Circle of Friends group on his/her own MUST attend the Introductory Training to receive grant money from Autism Action Partnership.
