Science Teacher Network (NE CCR Standards for Science)

It’s all about the shift from learning about to figuring out in a student-centered classroom.  This workshop is for K-12 science teachers who will spend the day working in grade bands, as well as, looking at the 3dimensional progressions from kindergarten through high school.

Topics:
   Identify the 3-Dimensions
Conceptual shifts of 3-D teaching and learning
Explore grade level standards and indicators
Discuss a timeline for district adoption
Explore how your current curriculum aligns
   Lesson development
“Keep It, Tweak It, or Toss It” using a current lesson.
Reflect on existing curricula and instructional practices.  Which aspects of the 3 dimensions are addressed well? Which aspects of the 3 dimensions should you target for growth?

Participants will be part of a Professional Learning Network of educators working collaboratively to support each other, share lesson ideas and resources, and learn from colleagues. Schoology will be utilized to share resources and ask questions throughout the year.
Join us for a day of collaboration and investigation of the new science standards!
