Welcome Jeff Janda to ESU 10

I am excited to start this new chapter of my career as a Teaching and Learning Coordinator for ESU 10. I just finished my 16th year of teaching, and have had the opportunity to teach both Music and Social Studies over that time. I come to this position from Hastings Public Schools where I have spent the last five years as a Sixth Grade Social Studies teacher and Doane University where I teach a summer graduate course called The Three R’s of Effective Instruction.

I am truly a Doane Tiger at heart having graduated in 1998 with a degree in Social Science Education, and added an endorsement in Music Education two years later. I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, also from Doane, in 2011.

I live on an acreage outside of Blue Hill, NE with my wife, Kristen and our four children, Ellie (13), Owen (9), Claire (5), and Kate (18 months).  Kristen has taught vocal music for 13 years in addition to her busy life as a mom, family event planner, kid taxi driver, etc. We enjoy the outdoors, camping, and following our kids’ activities, concerts, and ball games. We love to travel and try to get to the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming every chance we get.

I have enjoyed the opportunity to start getting out into some of the ESU 10 schools, and I look forward to meeting many more staff and administrators over the coming weeks as I get the chance to start partnering with you to serve the students of our communities.
