Science Network 101: Science Process Skills

December 31, 2011
K-12 teachers of science, this is for you! The ESU 10 Technology and Professional Development departments are teaming up to provide an awesome training series designed with you in mind! This is a continuation of the Science Teachers Day and Science 2.0 series from previous years. The content is different every session, so you are encouraged to attend as often as you can!

The first of three trainings in the series is September 21, 2011. In the morning, we will do an activity from the Exploratorium's Institute for Inquiry, through which we will complete a series of inquiry-based activities that emphasize science process skills. These could be used in any science classroom and will give participants a deeper understanding of how to develop their students' science process skills.

The afternoon will be dedicated to collaboration! You will have time to work within grade bands to design inquiry-based lessons, share best practices and favorite teaching ideas, receive tips for enhancing instruction, discuss state accountability, network and connect with peers, and learn new technology tips. So bring an upcoming science unit plan that you would like to work on, and come ready for a great day of learning, collaborating, and planning! Hope to see you there!
