Positive Behavior Principles with Dan St. Romain

Toto, you're not in Kansas anymore! Although behaviors in the school system have changed a great deal in the past few decades, our strategies for supporting those behaviors have not. As times change, so must our behavioral practices. Unfortunately, too often schools jump from program to program trying desperately to solve their discipline problems only to find minimal short-term success. By examining the information we have learned about the brain in the past decade, we are in a better position to understand how to best create long-term behavior change.

In this full day of staff development, participants will learn nine specific principles designed to support positive behavioral change in our students. This information complements the Positive Behavior Supports framework examining strategies at the prevention, intervention and crisis levels. The principles are applicable at all levels of development, early childhood through high school.

Participants will receive a copy of Positive Behavior Principles by Dan St. Romain as well as printed graphics designed to support each principle.
