E-Rate Support is part of ESU 10 Managed Services and focuses on assisting schools with completing the processes required by the Universal Service Corporation for discounts on telecommunication services. These requirements include filing numerous reports, getting bids or requests for proposals, and completing online requests to receive calculated discounts for eligible services. Most schools will receive between 50% and 90% discounts if the process is completed properly and the applications for discounts are approved. ESU 10 assisted in filing 54 applications, which resulted in approved discounts totaling $394,361.69 for the 2018 funding year.
E-Rate trainings provide regular updates to the application process, help individuals understand the guidelines and requirements, and focus on the timeline to achieve a successful application and funding. These courses help school personnel gain the skills to implement, support, optimize, and participate effectively in the areas they are tasked.
