Network Specialist  

Educational Service Unit 10 is seeking a Network Specialist to join our technical support team serving area school districts. A degree from an accredited college or university plus two years of experience is desired. Applicant should have good troubleshooting and networking skills plus application, desktop and server support experience is desired. Experience in an educational environment is preferred.

Major responsibilities will include:
• Responding to helpdesk tickets and support calls with remote and on-site assistance
• Troubleshooting wired and wireless networks and devices
• Monitoring local-area networks and maintaining edge security appliances
• Assisting schools and staff with network upgrade projects, researching and documenting common solutions
• Using industry best practices for improved network and system security and reliability

Special Knowledge or Skills
• High degree of professionalism including strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team member in a technical support environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with end users, technicians and administrators
• Ability to learn quickly and provide assistance to team members as appropriate
• Experience with wired and wireless network devices, security appliances, application support and virtual systems
• Physical ability to climb ladders and work closely around equipment racks to provide device and cable installations
